HOW TO BUILD IMMUNITY


After this Covid-19 outbreak everybody is told to build immunity to prevent this Coronavirus. Immunity refers to the body’s ability to prevent the invasion of disease causing substances like bacteria and viruses.Now the question is, is it possible to build immunity? The answer is yes. We can boost our immunity by some lifestyle changes.
 1. Get enough sleep: Inadequate sleep makes us sick. Getting adequate sleep may strengthen your immunity.
We must try to sleep for at least 7 hours at night. The blue light from mobile,laptop or television screens disrupt our sleep. It is important to go to bed at the same time every night. 
2. Exercise regularly: Moderate exercise like jogging,swimming,bicycling, walking can help immune cells to regenerate regularly. It can reduce inflammation too.
3. Include whole plant foods to your diet: Whole Plant foods like seeds, nuts, fruits, vegetables, legumes are rich in antioxidants and nutrients. They help decrease inflammation by combatting free radicals. Whole plant foods are also good for your gut health and vitamin C in fruits and vegetables prevents common cold.
4. Avoid added sugar: It is good to avoid added sugar and refined carbs as they are the main reason for overweight and obesity. Overweight and obesity increase the risk of chronic diseases.
5.Stay hydrated: Make sure you are drinking plenty of water regularly. Dehydration can cause headaches, affect our digestive system and kidney function. Water cleanses our body.
6. Manage your stress: Stress promotes inflammation and imbalances in immune cell function. Try meditation, yoga,and other mindful activities to manage your stress level.
